| Sector Project: Specialist
Equipment The development of a control harness for a robotic fully self-contained electrically powered commercial grass cutting machine, which combines a conventional cutting unit with an advanced laser-guided steering system for un-attended precision grass cutting and rolling. Achievement Working closely with the customer, over a number of months, our technical department developed the complete control wiring harness through various design builds to final production stage. Our skilled technicians were able to provide invaluable help with regard to material and connector specifications, resulting in a reliable and economic solution. The company has now released the product to market with keen initial interest from several Premiership and League football clubs. |

| Sector Project: Mobility
Scooters Due to a rapid increase in demand this manufacturer of mobility scooters needed to quickly increase production capacity to keep pace with sales growth. Expansion of the current site or moving to new premises and employing additional personnel was not considered an option, so the company made the decision to move to outsourcing. Achievement Connect-2 now sources all component parts for the rear bumper and front light units, which are supplied as fully wired complete assemblies ready for final fit. We also switched certain components after customer approval to Far East supply enabling further cost savings to be made. |

| Sector Project: Electrical
Distribution A prestigious UK switchgear manufacturer, selling to global markets, required a single source partner for wiring and panel assemblies as part of their adoption of 'lean-manufacturing' principles to ensure their future position as a global leader. Achievement Working mostly from physical samples our technicians produced CAD drawings and all relevant manufacturing documentation. Connect-2 purchasing secured supply and approvals for PCB's, Metalwork, Metalwork Coatings, Hardware, Switches, etc. Production routings were then finalised and training of the final assembly section was completed. To date we are the sole supplier of wirework and wired panels and work closely with the customer on all new projects. |

| Sector Project:
Airbath/Hydrotherapy Midway through a range re-design this major airbath manufacturer decided they needed to improve their old methods of hooking up various unit controls, electrical pumps and blower units. They contacted Connect-2 having not made any progress with their existing harness supplier. Achievement As major 'on-site' installation problems had been experienced, due to the construction of the original cable assemblies, one of our engineers re-designed the leads to incorporate fully moulded connectors. The various assemblies are manufactured in the Far East with pre-prepared ends to allow easy incorporation into the various electrical units from a number of different UK suppliers. Due to the design of the moulded connectors fitting is now far easier and very reliable, providing a significant reduction in costly 'on-site' second visits by installation engineers. |

| Sector Project: Baggage
Handling Systems Re-design our existing wiring harnesses for a baggage tilt-tray to ensure compliance with the Canadian market. Achievement One of our longstanding major customers, a European manufacturer of material and baggage handling systems, secured a major contract to supply a Canadian Airport with a back-site system. Our Technical department ensured total compliance for the Canadian market by evaluating all wire, connector parts and sundry items. The harness was then re-designed to incorporate all the necessary material changes to comply with the required standards in order to attain CSA approval. |

| Sector Project: High and Low
Voltage Power Supplies A world leader in the design and manufacture of low and high voltage power supplies had a need for a single source partner for wiring and cable assemblies in the UK, having undertaken a major re-organisation to re-align its business and manufacturing processes. Achievement Connect-2 technicians took control of all CAD drawings and specifications to accurately replicate the existing manufacturing information, which enabled a smooth and speedy transition to full out-sourcing within a few weeks. Our technical department now generate all development harnesses and documentation for all new products whilst our manufacturing facility provides the entire requirement for all production wiring and cable assemblies. |
